History Hall of
Fame
Introduction:
History is the foundation on which our current art styles are built.
By understanding the historical development of art, we are better able to
appreciate the wealth of artwork

Choose one of the artists listed in
the table below for your report |
 |
Your report should be at least six (6)
slides using Microsoft PowerPoint |
 |
Your report should include but should not be
limited to the following information about your artist:

Assignment: Using Microsoft
PowerPoint, create a minimum of six (6) slides:

1.)
A title slide, which includes:
 |
The
name of the
artist you have chosen |
 |
Your
name and class period |
|
|
2.) A biographical slide which includes a picture of your
nominee or
an example of his/her work
 | Introduce your artist with a powerful statement that
catches your audience's attention |
 | Include
information about your artist's style and art period |
|
|
3.)
A timeline
slide which shows when in history your nominee
lived and/or died
 |
Where and when your
artist was born and
died, his nationality, etc. |
 |
Give
at least 3 interesting facts about your
artist's life |
|
|
4.)
A slide
containing some of the important works and contributions of your
nominee
 |
Name
some of the works of your artist (at least 3) |
 |
Include an example of your
artist's work |

5.)
A concluding
slide which should include persuasive information as
to why your nominee should be included in the Hall of Fame
 |
Tell
why YOU think this person should be nominated |

6.)
A bibliography
slide citing your
sources

This
slide tells your audience where you got your information |

Procedure
-
Do all of your research
first & write notes for each slide
on the storyboard handout you are given (download
here)
(Use only the Web Sites you are told to use – for your safety)

Launch PowerPoint
-
Save your
presentation in a folder you create called: “Art
History - ___ Hour” in the My Documents folder
Name the file: “Art
History - YourFirstName YourLastName”
Note: Failure to save your
presentation in this way will result in your presentation not being graded

Complete all the typing first
(NO COPYING
AND PASTING FROM THE INTERNET INTO YOUR PRESENTATION WILL BE ALLOWED
except for the web addresses where you got
your information)

Spell check
-
Copy and paste a picture of your artist on your 2nd slide
-
Copy and paste
examples of your artist's work on the 4th slide - Successes
-
Complete your
Sources slide using the examples on the storyboard
-
Apply a Design Template
(You may need to
adjust the position and/or size of text on the slides after you do this, so
look through each slide carefully and make adjustments as necessary.)

Create transitions between slides
-
Create a self-running presentation with timings
If you are unsure as to how to do each of the above steps, please refer to
the PowerPoint Skills section below.
NOTE: You are responsible for preparing and presenting the final
nomination presentation. Your art teacher will be grading your
presentation, so do your best.
