How to Save an Image From the Internet
Suppose you want to have a copy of a picture
on the Internet. Use the images on the Web page to practice saving the images.
- Right-click on
the picture.
- Change to the
A:\ drive or create a folder in My Documents (give it your name)
- Click on Save
Picture As
- You may use the
filename you see in the window dialog box or pick a name you like better.
(save to A:\ if you are taking the image with you.)
How to use your picture in a Microsoft Word document
or PowerPoint presentation.
- Once you have
started a new document or opened an existing document in Word,
- Click on Insert/Picture/From File. Choose A:\ or
the folder you created.
- Click on the file name and then click Insert. Your picture
will appear in the document.
- If you need to
change the size, click on the picture and "grab" one of the corners.
Reduce or enlarge the image in this manner. Click Edit/Undo if you do not
like what happened.
- Drag it around
the screen by clicking on it with the left mouse and holding down the left
mouse. Let go when the image is where you want it.
- Use the Draw
toolbar to cause text to wrap around the image (magazine style).
- Choose Square,
Tight, Through, None, Top, Bottom to get the desired effect.
Try to save a picture to your A:\ drive and then
place it in a Word document or PowerPoint presentation. Good Luck!
